The Poet's Page

“What did you do as a child that made the hours pass like minutes? Here is the key to your earthly pursuits.” Carl Jung

Half the world is on the wrong scent in the pursuit of happiness.
They think it consists of having and getting, and in being served by others. It consists in giving and in serving others.

--Henry Drummond,
Just Being Happy, 1913

You cannot always have happiness, but you can always give happiness. --Proverb

Things that Twinkle in the Night...

Here is where I shall write of all the love places and such that twinkle and shimmer in the night...as well as in the sunlight..

The place that immediately comes to mind when it comes to things that twinkle in the night would indeed be Paris. It is the most beautiful of cities specially during Christmas season, when it truly comes alive with
a kaleidoscope filled with people, music and of course "the lights." Once upon a recent Christmas season my husband and I were on our way to dinner, when we found ourselves driving up along the Champs Elysee, towards the Arc de Triumph. Along both sides of the Champs Elysee there are the most beautifully lit Christmas trees, bedecked in snow, and silently twinkling into different shades of wintery colours. The moment felt so peaceful yet utterly beautiful, which is what Christmas is all about.

Bookish and Clever Reads...

My current read is "Snobs" by Julian Fellowes, who also wrote "Gosford Park." Being that I am barely into it, my thoughts will be posted after I get through it.
